Mandatory profiling of foreign nationals recommended

LINGAYEN—Before then Police Provincial Director Col. Wilson Joseph Lopez bowed out of office on Tuesday, he had recommended the mandatory profiling of all foreign nationals residing or temporarily staying in the province by all police chiefs following the arrest of four Chinese nationals and the seizure of P124-million worth of shabu in a sting operation on May 24 in Barangay Camantiles, Urdaneta City.

Lopez, in his report dated May 25, 2019 to Police Regional Director Joel Orduña that “enhanced liaison with our recruited Foreign National Keeper Networking is highly encouraged to raise our information collection efforts involving foreign nationals, their involvement in illegal activities, and their affiliations to criminal syndicates if any”.

This, after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Manila and in Laoag, Pangasinan and regional police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) elements in  the province intercepted a black Toyota Grandia with plate number AEA 4480 and confiscated more or less 18.81 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated total value of P124- million.
